Prof. Nagesh V. Bettakote

Hon’ble Vice-chancellor
Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University.

As we welcome 2025 with optimism and enthusiasm, it brings me immense joy to extend my warm wishes for a prosperous and fulfilling New Year. Our journey as an institution dedicated to promoting and preserving the performing arts has been remarkable, and the year ahead holds even greater promise. Founded in 2009, our university continues to be a beacon of artistic excellence and cultural heritage. Over the past year, we have made significant strides, further strengthening our academic and cultural endeavors. This year, the university has witnessed a participation of over 11,000+ students in Special Dance, Music and Performing Arts Examinations, including the prestigious ‘ Vidwath.’ This milestone underscores the growing impact and reputation of our academic programs.

Our network of collaborative partnerships has also expanded significantly. With 72 institutions now linked to our university through Memoranda of Understanding, we are better positioned to foster innovation, research, and cultural exchange on a larger scale. Additionally, the university has achieved a remarkable milestone in higher academic pursuits, with a total of 102 D. Litt admissions to date, of which 24 scholars have successfully completed their degrees.

As we embark on this new year, the university is committed to continuing its tradition of excellence. We will host an array of Cultural and Academic Programs, National and International Conferences and Workshops, creating vibrant platforms for our students and faculty to showcase their talents and contribute meaningfully to the arts.

Let us move forward together with determination and a shared vision for advancing the performing arts. I encourage each one of you to actively participate in our initiatives and celebrations throughout the year.

Wishing you and your loved ones a New Year filled with success, creativity, and joy.
